Public Sector Bank Employees once again to go on strike. Bank unions have announced a two-day strike in support of a nationwide strike called by 10 trade unions to protest the central government's stand on decision making.
"All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) and Indian Bank Employees Federation (BEFI) have called for a nationwide strike on January 8 and 9, 2019. The information was provided by the unions to the Association of Indian Banks (IBA), "IDBI Bank said in a filing to the BSE. Bank of Baroda also revealed the same.
Last year also bank employees were went on strike on 21 December, 2018 the bank officials boycotted the duties and called for a strike by the All India Bank Officers Association (AIBOC) to settle the wage revision, pension and other issues. Bank employees, officials and staff were on strike on December 26 against Vijay Bank and Dena Bank's merger in Bank of Baroda.
